BD FACSVantage SE

The University Cell Analysis and Sorting Core has three instruments. The first is a BD FACSVantage SE Flow Cytometry System. BD FACSVantage SE gains even more speed and power with new features and options that seamlessly integrate with its standard multicolor fluorescence, multi-laser excitation, and data management capabilities. Features such as nonrectangular sort regions are standard on the instrument. New options include a sixth fluorescence detector, third laser excitation spot, and CloneCyt Plus with faster well-to-well access.

Collection

The second of these is a Becton-Dickinson FACS Calibur equipped with 4PMT'S allowing for 4-color analysis using a 488nm air-cooled argon and a 633nm helium-neon laser as excitation wavelengths. The sort option is also available on this FACS Calibur flow cytometer.

Collection

The third instrument is a Becton-Dickinson FACS Vantage SE capable of 6-color analysis utilizing a Krypton 302C Inova laser for multi-line excitation 350-600nm, air-cooled argon laser for 488nm, and a helium-neon laser for a 633nm-excitation line. In addition, this instrument will have a turbo-sort option (25,000 cells/sec target capture) and a CLONECYT single-cell or multicell deposition system for microtiter plates or microscope slides. Software such as Win List, WinMDI and Cellquest Pro will be available for off-line analysis for investigators. Imaging output software will be available for investigators, such as Avid Video, Photoshop, Pagemaker; Microsoft Office loaded onto PC and Macintosh systems.
